CONTEMPORARY BESPOKE BUILD
A stunning holiday and weekend retreat designed and built to blend with the tranquility and beauty of it's surroundings. This was a design led project using high-end materials to create a simplistic cutting edge finish set in the ancient woodland of the New Forest.
From the outset this project demanded a high level of skill and efficiency to realise the vision of the owners and architect. Although the design is simple and minimalistic the specification was complex and precise with no tolerance.
This was stick build job (timber frame cut and erected on site) using high quality materials, with an architectural plan that was based around balance, alignment and precision. We had a three week timeframe to have the timber frame built and weather sealed.
The key features of this build were the dramatic use of space and light and the elegance of it's modernist symmetry, and balance of form and function.
The windows were designed with large apertures and hidden frames to maximise natural light and the aspects of the forest and to maintain the clean lines of the design.
The building was finished with larch cladding to help it blend with the surroundings and create a feeling of harmony and balance.
We worked tirelessly to meet the requirements of this project and we succeeded not only in meeting the timeframe but also in realising the aspirations of the design.
